Lilypie Fifth Birthday tickers Lilypie Third Birthday tickers

treasured moments…

Yesterday, I bought donuts for the kids… 1 chocolate, 1 strawberry.  Needless to say, they were both extremely happy and they enjoyed the donuts. Wanted them to share; i.e each one take half of each so that they get to try both flavours, but they didnt want. Rachel had the strawberry, Samuel had the chocolate.

During bedtime – after the usual routine (Bible reading, bedtime prayers, goodnight hugs and kisses and “i love you”), lights went out and Samuel was rolling around on the bed beside me, chatting to himself (don’t know what he was mumbling about…) then suddenly he said “thank you mummy for buying the chocolate (donuts)” .. *muax* – he planted a kiss on my cheek!

aww..my heart melted……   i love spontaneous, out-of-the-blue expressions of love from my kids…these are precious moments to be treasured! :) :)

Chopsticks!

I’ve just got to update this before I forget..

Rachel :

At 4 years 8 months old, my dear princess has learnt to use the chopsticks! She was very determined in practicing to use the chopsticks and her hard work paid off. She didn’t take long to learn actually. Probably within a week or so? :) :) Now each time she’s served noodles for meals, she will request for chopsticks! :)

Here’s a pic of her enjoying her sushi with chopsticks!

Proud of you, my darling girl! muaks!

oh and yes, she loves sushi too!  :)

tata for now… so many blog posts sitting in my draft folder……. *yikes*

7th wedding anniversary…

Backdated post.

Darling and I celebrated our 7th wedding anniversary in June 2011. (Actual date 6th June). This year we decided to go for a short getaway…it was a really last minute decision… managed to get a good 2D1N deal at Parkroyal Hotel, Penang.

3rd june – it was a replacement holiday for me. Darling took half day leave. He came home from office and he surprised me with a gift. It was a beautiful watch flown specially all the way from UK….it’s one of a kind…can’t be found here in Malaysia…. what a lovely surprise.. :)  And then I gave him his gift…a wallet… :)  Usually we don’t exchange gifts during our anniversary because we just feel it’s not necessary to buy a gift….a simple celebration is good enough. However, this year, since it’s our 7th wedding anniversary, we decided to surprise each other! I was surprised he got me a gift, and he was equally surprised that i got him one! haha.

Anyway, after having a simple lunch together at home, we left for Parkroyal. Arrived at Parkroyal shortly after 2pm and proceeded to check-in. Our booking was for a superior room but during check-in, we had a pleasant surprise, the hotel decided to upgrade us to deluxe room for free. We spent the afternoon napping…catching up on our much needed sleep! hahaha… evening, we headed to E & O Hotel for dinner. Why E & O? Well, Darling already planned to bring me there for the seafood buffet dinner to celebrate our wedding anniversary, even before the 2D1N stay came into the picture! So we found ourselves in E & O…dinner was at the restaurant called Sarkies Corner..It was a superb dinner….i loved the fact that they had unlimited servings of UNAGI! my all-time favourite! I think this is the only place that serves unlimited unagi.. :)  Alright, will let the pictures do the talking..

Had a good time of fellowship……after that, we headed back to Parkroyal; went to the night market to walk-off those calories consumed during dinner before going back to the room to turn in for the night.

Next morning, after a good night’s rest, went down for breakfast at the coffee house.

Thank you, darling for a memorable celebration. Praise God for 7 wonderful years of marriage…looking forward for many more wedding anniversaries to celebrate! love you, Darling!

power of prayers..

Rachel

This morning, when I drop Rachel off at Kindy, her teacher told me “She (referring to Rachel) is a very good girl; obedient and very responsible.”  My heart jumped for joy and I gave thanks to God. Another testimony of the power of prayers, God hears us. Everyday I make it a point to say a morning prayer with Rachel. Rachel prays first, then I will pray. After reading the book ‘Praying the Scriptures for Your Children’, I’ve learnt to pray for my children using the Scriptures.  So everyday, I pray that God will help Rachel & Samuel to be obedient children, to be loving, kind and forgiving to one another. (Ephesians 4:32). So when I heard the teacher’s comments (actually this is not the first time the teachers have commented but I thought I’d better blog about this before I forget), my heart is filled with joy & thanksgiving. I’m so proud of my girl…..definitely one of the many rewards of motherhood… :) Praise God…all glory unto Him.

Samuel

At 2 years 4 months old, Samuel is learning how to pray the Lord’s prayer. So far, he can pray “Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name, Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done…..” all by himself, after that he needs help….so we will pray and he will repeat after us. I’m actually amazed at how fast he can learn things… i think only within a week he’s already able to pray that whole phrase by himself… his cheh-cheh is also his teacher…whatever the cheh says he will follow. Rachel taught him the bedtime prayer. So Samuel can pray “Dear Lord Jesus, thank You for a wonderful day. Bless us with a good night’s sleep, Amen” all by himself!

Am sure Samuel will soon be able to pray the Lord’s prayer all by himself.  :) If i remember correctly, Rachel only learnt how to pray the Lord’s prayer (also partly my fault, I wasn’t hard-working enough to teach her the Lord’s prayer when she was younger! hehe) when she was 3…

praise God from whom all blessings flow…
